Apologies for the bad video quality and subtitles, but this is the only copy of the film I could find.

Television episode of Screen Director's Playhouse, "Number Five Checked Out", directed and co-written by Ida Lupino, starring Teresa Wright, William Talman, and Peter Lorre, 1956.
The person that uploaded the movie needs to give a description of what the movie is and it's year. Other than that it was a really good movie 👍🏻
This is the Godfather and Pulp Fiction back in the 50s and more truthful than anything written since.
Watched from start to finish in one viewing. Very happy to have found this sentimental woman story and the female director understands a woman's feeling and agony . Thank you♥️😊.
The big knife…
AN OTHERWISE OK MOVIE BUT TRULY A CRAP ENDING.
I've said this before but isn't this the best of its genre? Shelley Winters always unfortunately play the same party! They talked about her a lot more than we saw her thank God !!
Robert Aldrich _ BabyJane
What's up with the 0 50? I've seen it before, but not with that title.
Good looks are a curse - Most of you people dont realise how lucky you are
Total trash
lol what a loser.
A well-paced plot with a distinguished cast ! Ida Lupino was such a stunning-looking actress, besides being a talented Director. Rather unusual to see Claude Rains being cast in a 'good guy' role, and Thomas Mitchell as a villain.
O The Good Old Days! Go to a new town, get a new job on the word of a stranger… no updating the resume, completing a three page application even though you’ve provided the updated resume, or 2/3 tiered interview process, background check, or vaccine certificate
thank you for posting. 'Moontide' 1942. ms lupino was about 23yo, a fresh-faced, wholesome, natural beauty.
Nice movie, I've seen it over and over again but, there's one thing I just couldn't understand, the girl runs away terrified while being hunted by a predator, at one point she falls from a step, lying on the ground , stops struggling, her vision blurs and so she is reached by the man, I mean...did she pass out falling down a step? Is she semi-fainted because she can't stand terror, paralyzed by fear? Or does she give up because she no longer has the strength? Then I don't understand these maniacs, with so many girls who went to her kiosk, no, did it have to be the one? There was a girl who was putting nail polish on her nails, why rape this other girl who never trusted him? Her friend was there with her, they had coffee together and beauty has nothing to do with it or anything else!
Ida Lupino was an excellent director and political activist like her husband. She was able to establish herself as one of the few female independent movie makers of the 50’s. That wasn’t an easy task back in those days.
So. [1] how does everyone know her/know who she is, yet no one was in ear shot at the time? and [2] how does everyone know already? Who blabbed? There is no social media, how did it get all over town with her name and her face attached to it in what, just a day or two? ?
I felt sad for Bruce at the end.
Steiger is one of the most underappreciated actors in Hollywood history. His performance in The Pawnbroker is one of the most tragic ever filmed. And in No Way To Treat A Lady one of the most insane!
ARE YOU KIDDING?
The movie has been televised a few times recently - it is a must see - strong performances by one and all!
Outrage, 1950……No such movie as 0 50…?? 👍
This is my third time seeing this wonderful movie and I love it more with each viewing. Great storyline, superb casting, and, excuse my morbidity I enjoyed seeing Tiny get his comeuppance.
Great movie. A real roller-coaster ride of a flick with no dead or boring spots. Keep up the great work. Liked it so much I just subscribed to your channel.
Exceptional acting from ALL of the characters. A very underrated movie. Shelly Winters was great in her usual character role, however, surprisingly good was Jean Hagen from The Danny Thomas Sitcom with a complete role reversal. I also noticed Paul Langdon playing "Buddy" was a regular on ABC's TV series Peyton Place.
I didn't realize that Ida Lupino also directed movies as well as starred in them. Very impressive. Especially how she handled a very sensitive, even taboo, subject back then with both sensitivity and understanding.
Again and again I watch this finest of films..🇬🇧 1:31:57
Ida was great
You know when it's love! Yep🇬🇧
thank you
I was never exactly a Palance fan but I am now, wonderful film!
Ida is the greatest woman In my opinion a gorgeous girl is a legend of the art of motion picture with the greatest. Greatest odds she is a wonderful goddess as a director of my dreams But I'm scared she sent me a place to be scared She wants a relationship with a real hero of 1940s
Just enjoy it. Too many armchair critics here.
Terrific script, really had you guessing 🇬🇧
That minister is bucking for sainthood; talking about being centered.
I see the trouble already, that false god statue in the room, how evil! only JESUS SAVES! In 15 min. and Can't watch any more.
Moontide
How timeless this is regarding evil behavior, mental health, help, and hope.
*Brutíssimo. Belíssimo...*
It's good Ida directed this. It's very believable.
The opening credits sequence was shot in the now-vanished Bunker Hill area of Los Angeles. The same steeply-sloping streets is used in location-footage used in "Shockproof" (1949).
Jack Palace another great actor
Poor guy was tormented. Really sad ending Bring a movie star didn't help him at all.Hurt him.
,ALL STAR Cast.
what a good 'moral' movie ...in this wicked world today ! thank you for sharing with us !😇
like most movies, it takes only five minutes before some S.O.B. starts pouring a drink
Kudos to the clarity of thinking in pastor role. It allowed him to help her until she was readied to resume the life she chose. He too kept his path clear. Very edifying movie.
Pain was equivalent for both as evident in the end
